Nevertheless, this is the main reason why scientists need to study the effects of oxygen on things such as plants. Any reaction in which the presence of oxygen is essential to the overall process of combustion, therefore, is called an aerobic reaction.Oxidation is another physical chemistry problem that makes it difficult to conduct certain chemical reactions. The process of oxidation is necessary to generate energy and heat within living cells, as well as to burn certain substances. A good example of this is the use of amino acids in the formation of the protein in the body.When energy is introduced, electrons are released into the molecule, which creates a slight change in the molecular structure. Then, when the atoms again reassemble in a new manner, the chemical bonds that were broken are repaired. Now, if you notice closely, you will notice that the energy needed to move around the body also comes from the sun, and that the energy needed to create the carbon dioxide from the oxygen and the amino acids is generated within the body. The question becomes, 'How can we use this to produce fuel?'
